I've just noticed that the "search" feature on this blog is not working. I have removed it until the problem has been solved. Will visitors who have used the search feature please look back through the blog if you did not find what you wanted? It may very well be in the blog after all!

Walking the Nile
I watched the latest episode of this programme on UK's Channel 4 last night, and found it totally engrossing. We saw explorer Levison Wood walk nonchalantly through war zones, be accosted by various unstable-looking characters, many of them armed, and pass through some amazing scenery. We also saw a tribe that lives mainly off cow's milk, and whose main entertainment is wrestling. It made me thankful that I live in a generally civilised country, with a little variety in my life.
